Chatham Cultural Resource Group


The Chatham Cultural Resource Group is a coalition committed to increasing the cultural competency of human service agencies in Chatham County by:

  • Acting as a clearinghouse for training & related information. A calendar will be maintained. Trainings would include:

– Cultural Competency training
– Dismantling Racism training (institutional racism focus)
– Interpreter training
– How to Work with Interpreter training

Note: We seek to ensure agencies know about training resources, whether sponsored or co-sponsored by this group or another.

  • Encouraging agencies to conduct cultural competency self-assessments and develop agency action plans to address issues raised
  • Building a resource library for assessment tools and educational materials (print and video)
  • Assisting with compliance of Title VI of Civil Rights Act to ensure meaningful access for person with Limited English Proficiency
  • Sponsoring an annual event (such as training for community members, a cultural awareness event, or an evening discussion of the PBS video)
  • Providing a place to process diversity on a personal level.
