Safe Start Collaborative

 

 

Purpose
To identify the needs of children exposed to violence and children at-risk of exposure to violence in Chatham County and develop strategies to meet those needs.

Role

  • Provide oversight of the Safe Start initiative
  • Model interagency collaboration to develop a comprehensive system that addresses the well-being of children and their families (Safe Child System) in Chatham County
  • Discuss and make recommendations regarding CEV-related concerns
  • Share research-based best practices that have worked elsewhere to address the needs of children exposed to violence
  • Assist with the sustainability of Safe Start – identifying and maximizing resources among community partners.The Chatham Cultural Resource Group.
